Late Life Male Suicide: Past, Present, Future Dilemma
An educational program hosted by Montgomery County Emergency Service i(MCES) in observation of Suicide Prevention Week 2023:

Jennifer, Bianca, and Tony are the members of the Older Adult Suicide Prevention Committee of the Montgomery County Suicide Prevention Task Force. The Committee’s mission is to increase awareness of suicide risk among both providers and the community and to promote preventative measures.
MCES is sponsoring this event as a community education program and making it available at no cost.
From 2002 to 2021, men 75 and over had the highest suicide rate in the US. In 2021.there were 8043 suicides among men 65 and over in the US, 23 a day or just under one an hour. Presentation objectives:
- Describe incidence and rates of suicide in men aged 75/over in the US.
- Describe suicide risk and protective factors for older men.
- Describe psychosocial circumstances fostering suicidal behavior in older men.
- Describe programs and practices that may reduce suicide risk in older men
