Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade and refer someone to the help they need. QPR, from <a href=\"https:\/\/qprinstitute.com\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/qprinstitute.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the QPR Institute<\/a> has been researched and proven to be effective. It is listed on the National Registry of Evidence-Based Practices and Polices (NREPP).<br><br>QPR trainings are 1.5 hours to 2 hours in length and are offered by the Chester County Suicide Prevention Partnership (CCSPP) members who are certified QPR instructors. CALM can be implemented by anyone who is concerned about a relative, friend, or someone with whom they work. It encourages safe storage of firearms and medications during a suicidal crisis.
