Depression & Suicide Warning Signs

You may not see all of these signs if someone is depressed and/or feeling suicidal, but if you do see some of them and you are concerned, call or text the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by dialing 9-8-8.

Warning Signs

  • Sadness
  • Loss of interest in activities
  • Not eating or over-eating
  • Sleep problems
  • Unable to concentrate
  • Irritability
  • Angry outbursts
  • Frequent physical complaints
  • Missed school or work
  • Missed assignments
  • Fatigue
  • Low energy
  • Drug or alcohol abuse
  • Unreasonable feelings of guilt
  • Indecisiveness
  • Self-harm
  • Thoughts of death or suicide
  • Talking about death or suicide
