September is Suicide Prevention Month. On behalf of the Chester County Intermediate Unit, the Chester County Suicide Prevention Task Force, and NAMI Chester County PA, we invite you to a powerful event presented and facilitated by the Pennsylvania Mental Health Consumers’ Association.

The “I Didn’t Die, But…” Suicide Awareness Project has opened the door to real, honest, and emotional conversations surrounding suicide. Join us for the start of a moment to eliminate stigma and raise awareness of how it feels to be a person who has survived a suicide attempt. Following a screening of the “I Didn’t Die, But…” movie, a community conversation surrounding the interviews, themes, emotions and ideas of hope presented will be held. We want to bring attention to the multi-faceted issue of suicide and how we all have the ability to save someone’s life by sharing the insights of the interviewees.

This is a free community event with a boxed dinner provided to attendees. As this is a sensitive conversation, registration is required. Mental health support staff will be present, as well as resources and information to register for upcoming Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) and Question, Persuade and Refer (QPR) trainings.
