September 10, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
23nd Annual Candlelight Vigil Remembering Those Lost to Suicide
Survivors of Suicide, Inc. and M.E. Carpenter for Suicide Awareness will be holding a candlelight memorial on Saturday, September 10th during National Suicide Prevention Week.
Suicide Prevention Week for 2023 is set for September 10th through 16th. This annual initiative is dedicated to educating the general public about suicide prevention and the warning signs of suicide. It also aims to reduce the stigma surrounding suicide and offer support to those left behind by suicide.
This year both M.E. Carpenter for Suicide Awareness and Survivors of Suicide, Inc. will be holding the 22nd Annual Candle Light Memorial remembering those lost to suicide. The event will be held at Rose Tree Park Amphitheater on Sunday, September 10
starting at 7:00pm. Rain date is September 11. This event has gathered anywhere from 150-300 people from the tri-state area coming together to honor and remember loved ones lost to suicide. It has become a safe place for many to come together to find hope, comfort and support. The evening consists of speakers, music, Life Keeper Memory quilts, presentation of the MaryEllen Carpenter Award, reading of names and candle lighting.
If you would like to attend or have your loved ones name remembered please contact the event organizer, Linda Falasco at linda@lindafalascolcsw.com with the number of people attending and loved ones name. This helps in preparation of the event and
having enough supplies.
